Homestay can be anything from a single person to a family of parents and children. They can be young, middle-aged or mature. They may be working or retired. They may live in apartments, bungalows, Georgian mansions or semi-detached villas.
Most of our Homestay accommodation is in or near the city centre. It can be anything from a five minute walk to a half hour bus journey from Berlitz.
Homestay accommodation provides Bed, Breakfast and Dinner in private residences. These private residences are carefully selected and visited by the Centre Director.
You will have your own private room, typically with sole- use bathroom attached or nearby.
We try our best to select the appropriate host for you, according to obvious criteria such as gender, age, business and following where possible the preferences expressed such as dietary requirements and allergies.
Our aim is always to make you as comfortable as possible during your stay in order to benefit best from the “Edinburgh Experience” and to make the improvement of your English a success.
In homestay accommodation you will be treated as a full member of the household, eating together and sharing the common living areas.
English will be the language spoken at all times in the household, and near-native level of English is a criterion for selection by the Director.
Cost : 250 GBP per week + 50 GBP booking fee.

- More than five working days notice of cancellation
No accommodation charge.
- Between three to five working days notice of cancellation
50% of first week’s accommodation charges.
- Less than three working days notice of cancellation
100% of first week’s accommodation charges.
