Edinburgh International Airport ( www.edinburghairport.com ) the busiest airport in Scotland, is situated some 10 kilometers west of the city. The airport offers a wide range of domestic and international flights to Europe. Many visitors to the city arrive via a connecting flight from London. Edinburgh’s European flight network is well developed, with frequent scheduled flights to destinations such as Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, Copenhagen, Dublin, Frankfurt, Geneva, Helsinki, Kaunas, Madrid, Milan, Munich, Oslo, Paris, Rome, Stockholm,Warsaw and Zurich.
When exploring your options for travelling to Edinburgh you may also want to remember that Glasgow airport is only one hour from Edinburgh by bus or train and Prestwick and Newcastle airports are only two hours by train. You may also find that there are airports near you with flights that do fly directly to Edinburgh, even if you local airport does not.
Flying through any of the major hubs, such as London, Amsterdam, Paris or Frankfurt will offer other options. And remember, that because Edinburgh airport is so close to the city centre it does not take long to get from the airport to your accommodation or to Berlitz Edinburgh. This means that though you may have an extra hours flight if you connect through a hub, you may well still get to Edinburgh Berlitz faster than you might get to, for example, London Berlitz.
One of my favourite websites for finding flights is www.skyscanner.net as it allows you to search flights over a long period and from many airports.
