The Berlitz Difference

Think of us as a Language Training Organisation rather than a language school.

So what’s the difference ? Well, walk into most language schools and you will find large groups of students, mostly in their early twenties, learning from very ‘general’ English materials.

Features of a typical language school:

• Big groups.

• Less mature students.

• Emphasis on General English

• Students goals are to improve English for travel, meeting similar people, having fun.

• The school often has a ‘college like’ atmosphere.

Berlitz is different. Our focus is to train people who have usually moved past the school and college part of their life and are either involved in the world of work or who wish to strengthen their English skills so that they can enter or progress through their careers.

Features of Berlitz:

• Teaching is One-to-one or in small groups.

• More mature students with greater experience of life. Often working professional people.

• Courses often have an element of specialisation or a business skill incorportated.

• Students’ goals are to strengthen their professional English and develop their work skills.

• The atmosphere is more business like.
