One-to-One + Face-to-Face : The Perfect Combination
We have a range of Private foreign language courses. A Private course gives you one-to-one teaching. This means that there is only you and the teacher in the class. There are no other students. With the teacher focussing totally on you and your needs this is by far the most beneficial and fastest route to learning a foreign language.
Our standard Private courses vary in intensity from 12 lessons per day to 5 lessons per day and generally run from Monday to Friday. However, you are free to adapt a standard course or create your own course to suit your needs. You can, for example, start on any day of the week.
Students often have individual needs and want a particular focus to their language studies. We call this Language for a Specific Purpose (LSP) This is normally related to your field of work. It could be, for example, business Spanish, German for engineering, French for the oil industries, legal Italian, financial Chinese medical Arabic language or perhaps exam focussed foreign language study. Alternatively or additionally you may want to learn and practise a language for a particular event or skill such as French for meetings and presentations, German for emails or Spanish for travel. Private courses allow you to concentrate on and blend your specific needs while also providing you with general language studies if you require it.
Total Immersion®
60 x 45 minute lessons

A Berlitz Total Immersion® course runs from 9.00am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday, and is our most intensive programme (a total of 60 lessons per week). In addition to the one-to-one tuition, each day includes a lesson with two teachers present, allowing natural use of third person verbs and expressions. The programme includes a working lunch, where you continue to practise in a social context, and a multi-media lesson using the newest material developed by Berlitz each day. Total Immersion creates a miniature target-language environment and is highly effective.
Compact
50 x 45 minute lessons
Monday to Friday: 9am – 4.30pm
Lunch included

Course Cost : 2100 GBP per week ex VAT

Our Compact course is a shorter version of the Total Immersion. You start daily at 9am but instead of finishing at 6pm each day you finish at 4.30 pm. This may be attractive to you if you require extra time at the end of the day for work, leisure or simply to relax.
Private Full Day (Crash Course )
40 X 45 minute lessons
Monday to Friday 9am – 12.45 pm + 1.30 pm – 3.45 pm

Course Cost : 1560 GBP per week ex VAT

The Crash course is our less intensive one-to-one full-time course, comprising 40 lessons per week. It is still a highly effective course and will push your language abilites forward significantly.
You will have lots of opportunities to practise your language skills outside the classroom with this course as there is plenty of time to allow you to visit local attractions, shops and so on where you will be able to put your Foreign language into practise and therefore continue the learning process.
Private Half Day
25 x 45 minute lessons
Monday to Friday
9am – 12.45 pm.

Course Cost : 975GBP per week ex VAT

The little brother of the Crash Course- This course gives you 25 lessons per week in language language training. It retains all the benefits of one-to-one teaching but during the mornings only. It is perfect for those who wish to spend their afternoons either in leisure or work and again it provides you with the opportunity to continue practising your Foreign language in the wider environment of the city and all it has to offer.
Personalised (non -standard) Private Language Courses
You can also create your own Non-Standard Private Foreign language course schedule to suit your requirements.
The notes below will help you to create a course schedule for yourself.
- Below you will see the DAILY LESSON TIMES. Each lesson is 45 minutes.
- The cost per lesson is 39 GBP ex VAT (There is no VAT on English language training).
- You can vary the amount of lessons that you take each day from zero to twelve lessons.
- You can start and finish your lessons at any of the times shown on the DAILY LESSON TIMES.
- You can start and finish your lessons on any day that you wish including the weekend.
- You can take the LUNCH BREAK as a lesson. In this lesson you will go to a restaurant witha teacher. This will give you the chance to practise your social Foreign language. This lesson carries an additional charge of 30 GBP.
